"The authenticity of her signature is unquestionably guaranteed" (Client explaining why he purchased so many copies of Ayn Rand's Signed Limited Edition books, Atlas Shrugged [2000 signed, numbered copies] and Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal [700 signed, numbered copies; 300 signed copies].

October 10, 1967 marked the tenth anniversary of the publication of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. To commemorate this celebratory event, Random House issued a special deluxe tenth anniversary edition of Atlas Shrugged, limited to 2000 numbered copies autographed by Ayn Rand.

The book contains a new binding of fine-quality buckram with gold stampings, an acetate cover (missing today from many copies), and an attractive slipcase in the bluish green color which was Ayn Rand's Rand's favorite.

This highly-prized, limited collector's edition was available only through NBI Book Service, which sold copies of Rand's books, pamphlets and lecture recordings. It was issued then at a mere $10! (The NBI advertisement in Rand's periodical, The Objectivist, pictured here, does not accompany the book. Available with the complete set of The Objectivist.)

Copy number 84 is near fine in a gently toned slipcase, with a few tiny nicks and very gentle edgewear. Hinge starting but book holds firm. NO WRITINGS or markings of any kind save for Rand's signature and notation of "84." As well, this copy, unlike most copies, is numbered on the slipcase, lower right corner. Slate blue full-cloth boards, sharp gilt front cover initials and gilt spine titles on crisp black field with gilt border, fine. Deckled pages clean, fine. Blue matte endpapers. Includes original glassine wrapper, missing from most copies.
